Kulon Progo, November 9, 2025 — Taman Jamu Naturindo recently welcomed an international delegation from Temasek Polytechnic (TP) Singapore. This visit is part of an official collaboration with Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) under the Global Studies Overseas Study Trip (GSOST) program.
Around 35 participants, including students and faculty members, traveled from Singapore to Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). This 2025 visit marks the second consecutive year of the successful partnership, following their initial trip in 2024.
Strengthening Academic and Cultural Ties
The GSOST program serves as a bridge between UII and its international partners. Through this initiative, students explore Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage. Specifically, they focus on Jamu, a traditional health legacy that has evolved into a sophisticated modern industry.
Educational Experience at Taman Jamu Naturindo
During their visit to Taman Jamu Naturindo, the students engaged in several educational activities:
- Historical Briefing: Learning the deep-rooted history of Jamu in Indonesian culture.
- Processing & Standardization: Understanding how raw materials are transformed into standardized herbal products.
- Educational Garden Tour: Exploring the herbal gardens to see live medicinal plants.
- Direct Dialogue: Consulting with the production team regarding hygiene and modern quality standards.
Bridging Tradition and Modern Standards
This program aims to broaden the international perspectives of Temasek Polytechnic students. By observing how traditional medicine integrates with modern industrial standards, students gain a unique insight into the global herbal industry. Furthermore, this visit proves that Indonesian herbal products are gaining significant international recognition. It also strengthens the educational network between Singapore and Indonesia.
A Hub for International Learning
Naturindo continues to support the preservation of Jamu while serving as a global learning hub. This synergy enhances the world’s understanding of Indonesia’s natural resources. Ultimately, it fosters international collaboration in the field of herbal-based healthcare.
